Hello 4big,
I have looked at the datasheet for this product, as well as reviewed
the owners manual. There are documented power ratings for both 8 and 6
Ohms but nothing less. The manual recommends that your lowest speaker
impedance should be 6 Ohms, although I have found a few review sites
that have tested this receiver with 4 Ohm speakers with no reported
problems.
I am assuming by 'True Rated Power' you mean - fully tested, nominal
power, at a specific impedance. Is that correct?
Would this information suffice?
Thanks,
SgtCory

THE RECIEVER IS THX ULTRA 2 ,MEANING IT WAS TESTED AT ALL OF THE
IMPEDENCES LISTED IN MY QUESTION. THIS POWER OUTPUT QUESTION IS
VERY IMPORTANT .I HAVE READ IN HOME THEATER THAT THIS THING IS
STABLE AT 3.2 Ohm MEANING THAT THE POWER SHOULD GO UP . AT 6 Ohm IT
IS RATED AT 200 WATT SO 4 Ohm SHOULD BE AROUND 230-250 EST.
WHAT WILL 3.2 Ohm BE EST. I HOPE THAT YOU CAN ANSWER THESE QUESTION
BECAUSE EVERYONE I TALKED TO COULD'T INCLUDING A SO CALL TECH
PERSON FROM DENON. I JUST WANT TO KNOW THE RECEIVER POTENTIAL
WITHOUT BREAKING .

Hello,
I wouldn't be able to offer any more data than the Denon technician,
aside from speculative guesses. Without having in depth knowledge of
the power amplifiers, overload protections, and other important
factors, our best friends would be something as simple as Ohms or
Watts Laws to figure rough estimates.

I could not find a reference that would prove that being THX Ultra 2
certified means the item was tested at those impedances. This seems to
simply be a standard for audio compatability and quality, vice a power
related function :
Home Theater Magazine May 2002
"Ultra 2 also addresses the melting pot of formats that is the modern
home theater?not only for movies but for music. Ultra 2 is compatible
with most audio formats, but it focuses on the 5.1-channel-and-up
varieties...."

I wish I could have been more help. Let me know if I can help in any
other way, and I'll do my best -
