I need to find someone who can create a data feed for Froogle from the
products on my website. they would have to gather all the information
by visiting each product page of my existing site. I have detailed
instructions from froogle on how to create the Excel document to be
submitted. I have very limited experience with Excel, so I would need
someone who could do this with little input from me, other than
instructions I received from Froogle. I would think that someone who
was experienced with Internet and Excel could create this in a few
hours, and would hope to have it accomplished for < $100.00.
Thanks! |

Are you looking for a Google Answers Researcher to create your data
feed? If so, you might want to list the website, or mention the number
of items or pages to be catalogued, and price the question in the
range you have mentioned.
If you wish us to help you locate someone for the task, we can do that
by pointing you to services which allow you to negotiate directly with
such contract workers.
Let us know how we can best serve you. I would be perfectly willing to
create an Excel spreadsheet, however, I would first want to have a
better idea of the extent of the job.

larre,
Thanks for the prompt response and request for a clarification. If
you can do the job, GREAT. If you want to take a look at the site
here: www.discountdivegear.com and see the task you are looking at and
let me know if the $100.00 price is in-the-ballpark or not, I'll post
another question with the appropriate price.
Thanks again!

I've looked over your site, and believe that I can handle the job. I
have also downloaded a copy of the Froogle Data Feed Instructions.
Do you want to supply any of the Extended fields? If so, which?
The $100 price covers the amount of work fairly. You may raise (edit)
the price of this question, or ask a new one. I would suggest that if
you expire this question and ask a new one, that you direct the
question to me, or include a link to this question in the new one.

larre,
I looked over the info provided by Froogle and found no mention of
"extended fields". Please explain, and I will let you know.
I will edit the question and raise the price after you let me know.
Regards,
Dan

The extended fields include:
instock
shipping
brand
upc
quantity
product_id
manufacturer_id
exp_date
product-type
delete
currency
I would suggest using only Brand, and perhaps product and
manufacturer's ID if you list them in your catalog. The other extended
parameters are technical in nature, and I can set them as required,
based on the data used. Full descriptions of these fields are located
at:

Actually, I don't think I'd have any problem figuring out which
extended fields to use on a product by product basis. It's pretty
straightforward.

larre,
Just a couple of quick clarifications before I finalize the question
with the correct price...
How will the completed spreadsheet be supplied to me, without it
being supplied to everyone else? I can't stomach the idea of my well
spent $$ and your hard work being delivered free to someone else who
might make changes and use it.
And... Can you include a blank field for "weight" so that I can use it
for other applications after I fill in the blank fields?
Thanks!

It's no problem to add the WEIGHT field to every record.
I will post a link to the datafile. I am sure that your information
can be adequately protected.
