Hey there assimilator,
I have found a few places where you can purchase 1000 TC sheets, with
deep pockets to fit the hard side waterbeds. I will list my search and
the relevant links below. I also want to let you know i did call all
of these to ask if they fit hardside waterbeds, and every company's
customer service dept did say yes.
I did a www.google.com search for "1000 thread count waterbed sheets"
Here is the link:
I then navigated the ads on the right side of the page and tried out
www.SmartBargains.com
and
www.BizRate.com
At SmartBargins I found
http://www.smartbargains.com/prod.aspx?s=SE1&ev=0&evn=&deptId=3&catId=44&prodId=3030223791
"? Trousseau luxury 1000 thread count sateen sheet set

sheet, 72" x 84" California king fitted sheet, and two 21" x 40" king
pillowcases

"
At Bizrate I clicked a couple of links and found
http://secure.linensource.com/default.aspx?sid=obmqzhyhnhvbsgexpf2t1r45&uid=CW1&page=product&sender=pattern&categoryid=A5C95876-AF3F-4A31-A9A5-6757357E2D7F
"These sublime sheets of 1000 threads per square inch are woven with
long staple two-ply yarns for extra softness and durability. Our
exquisitely tailored sateen sheet sets feature an oversized flat sheet
with 4? cap hem. Fitted sheet fits up to an 18? mattress. 100% cotton.

There you go, those should fit your hardside waterbed. 1000 count will
be nice and soft too.
Sweet dreams with your new sheets!

Nenna,
THANK-YOU!
Just to clarify, neither of the links you provided mention that they
fit waterbeds. I realize that you did call to verify that they will
fit. I am interested to know are these some type of "universal fit"
for all types of mattresses. Is this new? I actually found one of
the links you supplied before I asked the question, but since it did
not specify waterbed, I assumed they would not work. Do you have any
idea if they will work well, in other words, stay tucked?
Thanks again!

No, they're not so much a "universal" fit sheet. The companies, when I
called, stated for most hard side waterbed mattresses, they have been
told they work great. The reason they seem "universal" is that a hard
side on a spring matteress and a waterbed mattress are usually the
same as far as sheet depth and the way they stay on. One manufacturer
did say you might want to get "sheet suspenders" for them that clip on
either side of the bottom for added fit. I personally have never tried
this idea, but, like I said, what I was told is that they should work
fine.
Hope that clears things up
