A Fund of Hedge Funds is a diversified multi-strategy multi-manager
investment fund. As a start-up it is not easy as the only starting
ground you have is your existing business connections (to push out the
product) and the pro-forma results of your fund (a tentative track
record of the fund as if it has been operating for a period of time).
As a small business, it is difficult to find good people due to a
limited budget to do sales. A good source of sales channel is t search
for overseas distribution channels, which will mean hiring a
specialist for this.
The fund Charges a Management Fee of 1% and a Performance Fee of 10%
on Net Profits. Existing Pro-Forma is netting 15% before-performance
fees. Which means a net of about 13.5% net return for clients.
Have in plan to create excellent professional collaterals and website
for the fund.
I need to generate a robust sales and marketing strategy to raise as
much money as possible. Have in mind to segregate to 2 levels, one is
at local-sales level and above that is the Channel Sales &
Dsitribution deal for overseas distribution.
I have no experience in building a Marketing, Distribution & Sales team/department.
I need all the ideas, help and advice that I can get in its most
practical format. I need a plan.
We have modest fund available for fund the project but in the end, it
has to be self-sustaining. Thus an initial burn period is fine as long
as it can be re-couped over the short-medium term.
