Okay, I'm now at the point where I am almost positive this quote is
nowhere to be found on the internet, so here's what I propose:

The following quote is taken from an interview with Rowan Atkinson.
From what I have managed to discover thus far, the quote is in
reference to the character he plays in the film "Johnny English" and
is believed to be taken from an interview conducted for the British
television serious "Parkinson."

The reason I require this quote is because there is a long-running
competition on our local radio station with a prize currently valued
at £2,150 cash just for providing the missing word.

So, here's the deal:

If you can provide the missing word, you get $15.00. If I subsequently
manage to win this competition from the word you provide, I'll tip you
10% of the winnings, so you'll get approximately £215.00 ($350.00). If
that means I have to send you an IMO to that value, then I assure you
I will do so; even if you aren't a Google researcher.

The quote is:

"That's my role, I'm a ______ kind of figure. A sort of fantasist."

Impress me!

I was about to do the final edit on this, but someone is obviously
quite confident of their search abilities.

Anyway, an exact word-for-word quote is as follows:

"That's my role, I'm a kind of______ sort of figure. A kind of fantasist."

The reason for the initial paraphrase is because the quote is in audio
format and I had to re-check. Anyway, the above amendment is exact, so
that should aid any specific searches.

Good luck!
Apologies for the previous inaccuracy

I am afraid that your answer is somehow not quite right.

Which alphabet are you using DEFQHIJKLM or QWERTY?

Sorry for the wrong answer, the correct one is as follows:

ENTUSIASTIC:
"That's my role, I'm a kind of ENTUSIASTIC sort of figure. A kind of fantasist."

Aha ... A deliberate misspelling!

Well done Ehsanbaig, I can see why nobody thought of that.

Currently last entry states that he said "it was i'ma kind of
ENTUSIASTIC figure....." Don't know if that's correct or not, but
there it is on the Internet. :)

Best regards,

Well, 'Enthusiastic' has already been tried and it was not accepted.

See List on #325928.

Cripes...

So much activity and still no answer...

Thanks to probonopublico for clearing up the above guesses ... saves
my poor old fingers. Yes peeps, the answer begins with a letter
ranging from D to M. Thus, any guess falling outside those parameters
is wrong.

Further guesses welcome, but surely someone out there must know the answer?

Rowan, if you're reading this then send me a sign!

Erm, yes, I'll be off now!

PICKY? US?

Well since we're being accused and all that...

I may as well be the one to mention that:

a) Donquixotic ain't even a word! However, Don Quixote is a legitimate
name, but
it's two words ... see other topic re: word limits.

b) Secondly, Don Quixote has been said and features in the "wrong"
list (see other
   post).

So, whilst we may be picky, I assure you we (well, I) take no pleasure
from being this way. Believe me, there's nothing I'd like more than
you to turn up the correct answer!

I'm rootin' for ya fella ... really I am!

Keep going, it's just around the next corner...

I promise...

hey, textmonkey, I just went to the CFM website to see how this
'quote' was going and instead, they have a secret sound competition!!!
Is it all over? Has the fat lady sung? Tell me, pleeeeeze, what did
Rowan say???

I didn't think anyone cared anymore...

Yes, Stressedmum, you are quite right. The slightly rounded lady has
sung here little heart out for all to hear. And since it wasn't me who
scooped the £2,350 pounds, I think I'm perfectly within my rights to
poke said fat lady with a big pointy stick...

Consider it done!

Incidentally, the missing word was "impressario" although I'm still
not convinced it wasn't a fix. That word just doesn't seem right in
the context of that quote ...

Maybe I'm just a poor loser...

Or maybe I'm just poor...

Either way, move along now. There's nothing left to see anymore.

You should get that pointy stick and poke Rowan Atkinson for saying
such a silly thing. Impresario indeed! Okay, okay, I'm moving, don't
push!
