Hello, I am interested in determining the potential market size for a
new cart I would like to bring to market. Also my intent is to follow
it with a new chair and umbrella (beach size ~6?, not ?market? type).
The cart is collapsible and would be used when going to the beach,
music festivals, picnicking and perhaps camping. An additional market
could also be people who use laptops outdoors, as this cart would make
it easier to do work, holding paraphernalia like battery backups,
portable printers, books, pens, paper etc. The cart aids in the
transport of required paraphernalia i.e. chairs, blankets, towels,
umbrella, books, cooler etc. The carts most prevalent on the Internet
are ?Wonder Wheeler? and a couple by ?Roleez?, ?Sport Caddy? and
?Roleez Push Cart?. They sell for $70, $150 and $250 respectively. I
envision my cart to fall between the $150-$250 range. I believe my
cart would appeal to a more ?style conscious? and ?upscale? consumer.
These items would be designed (lightweight, aluminum, plastic, outdoor
fabric, some wood) primarily with the beach in mind as I am assuming
this will be the dominant or largest potential market. I am familiar
with the data in the report published by Packaged Facts "The US Market
for Outdoor and Casual Furniture, Grills and Accessories". This
report does not go into the details I need regarding my product focus.
For the purpose of defining market research parameters I am breaking
the ?market? into three segments. 1. Beach 2. Music festivals, picnics
and camping 3. Personal business related work while being outdoors,
perhaps using a laptop. I hope someone can help me!! Within a few days
would be great as time is pressing. Thanks!
1. What is the Market Size for each of the three listed market
segments? (US only, # of units sold, # of consumers)
- cart
- chair
- umbrella
2. Are these markets declining or growing?
3. What are the annual sales at retail?
- cart
- chair
- umbrella |
