Hello everyone.

I am trying to build up a model for the global demand for DVB-T and
DAB transmitters, both the main transmitters and satellite repeaters.

I guess I have a number of small sub-questions:

1. What is the average ratio of repeaters to main transmitters in the
existing analog networks (please cite actual values with references
not just guesses or industry averages). E.g. Germany has X main
transmitter sites and Y repeaters according to ZZZZ. (I actually know
the figures for Germany but need more examples).
2. What is the average power output and coverage area of a DBV-T/DAB repeater site?

I'd appreciate any thoughts/references to the design of these
next-generation digital broadcast networks.

Whatever you are able to answer, please supply reference since I will
need to cite these in my own report.

Please do not send me to the obvious places, like the DVB Forum, DAB,
ETSI, ERO, ANSI, IEEE, NAB, or the various manufacturer sites, like
Harris Broadcast, Itelco, Rodhe Schwarz, Screen Service, Thales etc. I
have already tried these places with limited success.

If you are a network planner, or have deep technical understanding of
radio broadcast networks, please do answer me. Otherwise...

Many thanks.

David
