Hello, sorry for my lack of information. We would like to be near the
beach, but within driving distance of Manhattan. The dates are April
19-22, 2004. Three nights, four days. Our budget is $600. If any
meals can be included, great. There are two of us. Myself and my
wife. A nice room with a hot tub is preferrable. Non smoking. It
doesn't matter if it's a condo, bed and breakfast, or a nice hotel.
If there are some decent restaraunts within a half-hour or so, that we
be preferrable too. We want to be able to go in NYC and see a broadway
show, but we can take care of that part ourselves, we just want a nice
place near the ocean, but not too far from NYC.

Well, the ocean up here is going to be mighty cold at that time of year.
Long Island Sound is always warmer, though in April it won't make much difference.

If I were you, I might look in coastal Fairfield County, Connecticut.
The closer you are to New York City, the more expensive it will be,
but if your budget is $600 for three nights you will probably be all right.

For instance, you might consider the Cos Cob Inn, http://www.coscobinn.com/ .
They are opposite the marina in Cos Cob, though to get to an actual beach
I think you would have to drive a little bit. They do have hot tubs in a
couple of the rooms.

The Harbor House Inn in Old Greenwich, http://www.hhinn.com/ ,
is closer to the beach but does not seem to have hot tubs.

Both are probably about 45-50 minutes from the city by train.

This is based on a quick Web search and my recollections as a former
Fairfield County resident, so I reserve the right to be totally off base.
Hope it helps though.
