Question ID: 326297
I would like to create a form on my website (www.thegizzards.net) to
allow visitors to send their e-mail address in order to subscribe
and/or unsubscribe to our mailing list. Where can I find a free script
that I can copy on to my site to do this? Would this be a 'cgi
script'. I do not have much experience creating web sites, so please
provide details, such as where I would put the script (cgi-bin
directory?), etc... Thanks!!

"Where can I find a free script"... "Would this be a 'cgi script'"
Try this link, may be useful:

1. http://www.focalmedia.net/guestfriend.html
I don't know anything about cgi, but this script has a readme.txt file
describing everithing. I think you must use perl for this script to
work.

2. http://www.freedback.com
Another link, but they display an advertisment on page, and data
submited by visitors will be processed on their site :(

If this is not what you are looking for, please tell me, do you have
php and mysql support? I am a newbie my self, but maybe I could help
you.

portocale-ga - Where is the readme.txt? Do you mean that I will get it
if I download the guestfriend script?
