Hi xaviersm-ga, 

There's an obituary for him in the Harrisburg Patriot, but no details
of his death I'm afraid.

"James E. Appleby III," The Harrisburg Patriot, June 16, 1999, B02.

For researchers: They have him as being 29 and give a death date of
June 2. He worked as in human resources, graduated from Mechanicsburg
Area High School in PA, and attended Middlebury College.

Wish I had more for you.
