I think this is an Alstom GFA "Gyrofluor" contactor, distributed by
Areva T&D. Their web site is here:

http://www.areva-td.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=TDE/AGF_NavPage/NavPage_Productsv2&c=AGF_NavPage&cid=1018253756182&rid=1018348589697&lid=en&pid=1017999014820

Go to the drop-down box after "Choose your way to search for a
product" and "By alphabetical order" and select "GFA". That will take
you to a fairly comprehensive product page. The direct link for that
is here:

http://www.areva-td.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=OpenMarket/Xcelerate/Render&c=AGF_Product&cid=1023278179549&rid=1018348589697&norid=true

The product page has a U.K. number to call (+44 (0)1785 25 00 70) and
a contact form. Looks like the form goes to
tde.webmaster@areva-td.com. They have local representatives as well.

The phrase, "Stand: CEI SF6..." refers to an IEC standard for filling
these devices with sulphur hexafluoride at a given temperature, a
heavy insulating gas. I suppose that is where the "GFA" model type and
"Gyrofluor" come from as well, with the "gyro" part referring to the
rotating contacts. I suppose IEC (International Electrotechnical
Commission) is written CEI for SI compliance: something like
Commission Electrotechnicale Internationale. It is certainly confusing
if you're not used to seeing it that way.

This particular model switches up to 6.6 kilovolts. "imp. VOLTAGE Uw
60 kVp" means "Rated lightning impulse withstand voltage peak = 60
kilovolts". "SHORT TIME CUR. ith 1 S 10 kA" means "Rated short time
withstand current for 1 second = 10 kiloamps" "BREAKING CUR. Isc 10
kAp" means "Rated short circuit breaking current with fuses = 10
kiloamps, peak". I think the rest is clear.

If Alstom/Areva don't happen to make this particular unit, they can
surely tell you who does. It's not that big a market. There's great
pictures, specs and a documentation PDF on the site, so you should be
able to tell right away if this is your part.

Alan Kali
