I'm looking for some kind of list that features small software
companies in California (esp. the SF bay area)that are still in biz.
It can be a list of their websites or just the main company contact
info including phone #. It could also be a geographical (but not
necessary) list as long as it specifies address and phone. Can you
help?

available. However, it appears that you may find exactly the
information you are looking for through a service such as the Yahoo!
Yellow Pages. In particular, the Yahoo! Yellow Pages provides a
summarized listing of the name, address, and telephone number of any
companies matching your criteria. Here is the page for a search on

Hi Blader,

Thanks for your quick response regarding my search. Unfortunately the
list you supplied is made mostly of large software companies based
outside California that have sales offices in CA. I need to know of
small California based software companies because that is my company's
(new) marketplace. Perhaps there are some business associations for
small software producers that might have a geographical list. Any help
is much appreciated.

able to provide you with better information in my original answer. I
hope you find these new listings more helpful.

I conducted a search at the International Small Business Consortium
for companies involved in "software" products in California. There
were 93 results matching these criteria in their database. Because
direct linking to the results do not work on their results pages, here
is the link to the search page:

http://www.isbc.com/db/SearchResults.cfm

For General Category choose "Computer/Software...etc"
For product or service to search for, enter "software"
For state/province, enter "CA"
For Country, enter "USA"

Leave all others default or blank. You should get to the same results
page as I did, with 93 results. You can also narrow down the results
as you see fit.

In addition, Socaltech.com has a nice list of small technology
companies organized by area at the following page:
