I need to see a statistics related to the distribution of max water
temperature settings in the US households water heaters in the last
20-25 years. Ideally I would like to see graphs after 1980: e.g.: in
the period 1980-1982, 32% of the households had a max water heater
temperature setting of 170F, 23% a value of 155F, and so forth. I do
not need any distinction among states, but a general US statistics
I need to know the current US law and regulations related to the max
water heater temperature setting and possibly I need to know if this
law had different values in the past and which were these values

I live in Florida. We set our 70s gas hot water heater at mid range to
avoid getting burned. About 1999 we had to replace the hot water
heater. We set the new heater at max temperature to get almost as hot
as we got at half setting on the old heater, so your assumption is
likely correct for Florida. Neil
