How can I take the keyboard off of my L3800 Laptop?  I am looking for
steps on how to do this that actually work.

There is a screw on the underside of the Notebook that holds the
keyboard in place. The hole to access the screw is just above the hard
drive bay next to one of the cooling fans. Once you have removed the
screw you shold be able to lift out the keyboard without any trouble
at all.
