Greetings Paulus65:

I have not found a reference to an electronic or ultrasonic book
cleaner but you may be interested in reading a question I answered for
another customer with the same general query.

The question is titled "Dusty vintage books" and may be seen at
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=245120

Rare books are best cleaned carefully by hand as many may be damaged
if subjected to more rigorous methods. Another reference not included
in my previous answer (but in line with the same advice) is located at
http://amol.org.au/recollections/1/2/18.htm and reads in part:

"Books are not always easy to clean. In some cases it is not wise to
try to clean them thoroughly, especially if they are in fragile
condition. If this is the case, you must approach cleaning with
care...When cleaning a book, place it on a desk on a clean sheet of
paper. By moving the paper around, you can reach all sides of the book
easily. This method is easier and safer then trying to hold the book
at the same time as you are holding the cleaning tools."

That link also shows two cleaning images and may be of assistance to you.

Best regards,
journalist-ga
