Hello, I am using Pinnacle Studio 8 Deluxe (with the most up-to-date patches) on a WindowsXP system. When I author VCDs & DVDs, the movies will autoplay on my machine, and they will play just fine in a standalone dvd player, but when I put them in other computers, they don't autoplay, but instead the file browser opens the disc. This is frustrating, because I then have to tell people to get into subfolders to select & play the movie. Am I doing something wrong? How can I ensure that my vcds & dvds will autoplay (or at least be recognized by windows as a playable movie)? |

Nope your not doing anything wrong. In windows XP, when you insert a CD/DVD media for the first time, it pops up a box and you can select a default action. So if someone inserts a CD and chooses file explorer and "ticks" it as the default action, it will always do that. This can be redifined. Another fact is that XP has no DVD video decoding software, so unless they have it, they wont be able to watch DVD's. X |
