Are you looking for free sound files or are you willing to pay? Also,
what file format are you looking for?

Hi, cobrien. Free is better, but I"ll pay if I have to. Format doesn't matter.

Please let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks,

Robert Orenstein

swellbones-ga -

You asked about downloading a copy of the Dandy Warhols unreleased
"Black Album." And, that the answer must lead to the music.

According to Slabtown ( http://www.slabtown.net/albums/black.html ),
that is not going to happen unless you have personal contact with
someone who already has the tape. See below for the email address of
someone who might be able to tell you more...maybe even has his own
copy...

Unfortunately, as you "require" obtaining the music, I don't know if
you will consider that as an answer. As such, I won't post this as an
answer - just as a clarification. If it is an answer, leave word here
and I'll then mark it as answered.

Taken From Slabtown's data:

The Black Album - the Dandy Warhols went to record in early 1996, but
when they took the rough cuts to Capitol, they were told them it was
bad. THIS ALBUM WENT UNRELEASED, BUT NOW CIRCULATES AMONG SOME FANS.

The article goes on to list 14 possible tracks, with background
discussions. It then mentions how the Black Album holds a very taboo
spot in DW lore, to trade the tape between people is discouraged, and
that it is considered bad etiquette to even ask for a copy of it. They
then suggest some people might even get upset over sharing the track
listings, and suggest, "If you want to complain to me, EMAIL ME AT
JMCGROTT@SLABTOWN.NET."

Good luck in your hunt.

Regards, walts-ga

Dear Swell Bones,

I found several bootlegers who will be willing to trade it with you
(but the electronic format is normal CDR).

Are you interested?
