OK...I'm tired of looking. Can you help me find a 3-shelf, all
metal/metal with glass shelves printer cart, in black or silver, to
hold my Epson 2200 printer? The footprint of the printer is about 13"
deep and 25" wide. I would like to put my scanner on the middle shelf
and be able to open the lid...at least most of the way. It needs to
be on casters. I don't want anything that has plastic shelves, or
particle board shelves. solid wood shelves might be
acceptable...depending. I need to use as little space for this cart
as possible. Budget is $175. I liked this one but it has
been discontinued: http://www.stacksandstacks.com/html/90242_computer-workstation-metal-and-glass.htm

Thanks much!

Howdy nerv-ga,

How about the following; a bit utilitarian, but should work, even
with the printer going over each side by 1/2" or so.
http://www.staples.com/Catalog/Browse/sku.asp?PageType=1&Sku=793802

"Five-in-One Adjustable Audio Visual Cart ... Textured steel with
radius edges and graphite finish. Twin-wheel casters, two locking.
... 26"-42"H x 24"W x 18"D."

A similar model:

Hey There denco-ga,

I'm starting to feel like we're old friends! ;-)

Well, those carts would work....but they are indeed very utilitarian.
I was hoping for something with at least a tiny bit of style as my
studio is open to the rest of my home. Care to take another stab? (if
not, no problem!).

THX...

Yvonne

No problem Yvonne, I will look for something a little less stark.
Alas, stylish usually doesn't include functionality!

My pleasure! denco-ga

Hi nerv,

I have found one printer stand that exaclty matches your request, and
several others that closely match, but not quite. I've included them
as possible considerations!

I also found this one, that seems to be, or closely resembles the one
in your question! $136.99 I "ordered" it, and got all the way to the
part where I needed to enter shipping info, without getting an "Out of
stock". Hopefully, they actually DO have one in stock!

If I may suggest what I would do with this cart: I'd place my prinet
on the bottom shelf, and the scanner on the top shelf. By doing so,
the scanner is freely accessible and the lid can be lifted all the
way. The printer is still very accessible as well.
Features include a tempered glass worksurface (42"W x 23-3/4"D), wide
keyboard shelf (29"), metal tubular legs for stability, 5 casters for
mobility (2 are locking) and a 10 slot cd holder. Measures 42"W x
24-1/2"D x 36"H overall. The bottom shelf measures 29-3/4"W x
19-1/2"D. Assembly required. Imported. Comes in several colors.

Hi Crabcakes,

Thanks much for researching my question for me. The cart that you
found on artfurniture's site, which is identical to the one I had
mentioned in my question, has been discontinued as I had mentioned in
my question. I had contacted the manufacturer and was told this, and
if you notice on artfurniture's site, it says that it will take 5-6
weeks for delivery of this item, which means they do not have it on
hand but intend to order it from the manufacturer.

As for the other carts you found, unfortunately they do not meet my
criteria. The Jupiter cart is too big for my space (I mentioned I
need to use as little space as possible...meaning keep it close to the
footprint of the printer), and anything with plastic or laminate is
not acceptable....not because of aesthetic reasons, but because of
health reasons (I have allergies and need to limit my exposure to
these materials). The all-metal cart has four shelves ( I want
three), which also appear to be too closely spaced so that I would be
unable to open my scanner properly. I need the printer to be on top
as I use it constantly and want it to be comfortabley accessible. I
don't use the scanner too much.

Maybe a cart mean for some other purpose would fit the bill (?)

Thanks Much!

Hello again, nerve,

I just called Furniture on the Web, (1-800-220-7584) They ARE out of
stock, but a very friendly woman named Amy called the manufacturer,
and called me right back! The manufacturer told her this desk would be
back in stock May 1, 2004, and that it is not discontinued. The
manufacturer said they would be shipping on that date to Furniture on
the Web. If you can wait, it does appear that you can get this item.
http://www.furnitureontheweb.com/NoFrame/items/069980nf.html

I will continue to look for other models for you, however.

Thanks for calling artfurniture...very nice of you. :-) regarding
their response....hmmmm, different than the response I got. I was
told this model was discontinued and being replaced by a similar
model. I saw a photo/specs of the "similar" model at stacks and
stacks site and it has different dimensions as it has a CPU holder
attached to it. I wonder which story is true? If it was indeed the
exact cart, I would wait....but I could not wait 5-6 weeks as it
states at artfurniture's site. I'm really in need now.

Hi crabcakes,

At this point, I think I'll wait and see if artfurniture gets the cart
in that I want. Thanks much for your help.
