I just became a licensed physician in California.  how do I get a DEA
license, the one you need to prescribe drugs?

I don't know.  I already found that site but it doesn't explicitly say
if this is "the DEA number" that you need to write prescriptions.  In
fact, it doesn't even say what it is for.  The gov is amazingly dumb
in this regard.

Having just recently gone through the process, I can assure you that
this is in fact what you need.  I hope you have success in your new
career!

Having never gone to medical school and never having completed this
registration process let me just say that it is frightening that you
could have made it through medical school and not have known this was
the correct form.  Sorry to be so harsh but I would expect more from a
doctor that I go to.
