Around 1969, Ford-Philco made a corporate film titled "1999 A.D." It
starred Wink Martindale, who played "Michael Shore," an astrophysicist
working on the "Mars One Project." Marj Dusay played his wife
"Karen." Alexander Scourby narrated. They lived in the House of the
Future somewhere in southern California with their 8-year-old son.

In 1989, I made some phone calls to Ford in Michigan, and eventually
hooked up with someone in their audiovisual department, who told me
how to order a videotape of "1999 A.D." for $20. I bought it and
enjoyed it for a couple of years until I lost it in a move.

Now I'd like to get another copy. Can you please tell me what I need
to do? I'd like to get it straight from Ford - I know the video's
technically available at http://tvideo.com/misc.htm , but I already
bought a copy from that source and the quality was low. Thanks!

Carl

Hello and thank you for your question! I too have an interest in some
older films and so I researched my usual databases for the one you
requested. Just like you did I found the copy through TVideo....

Caught in a Rip-Off / Year 1999 A.D. A 1974 warning to shoplifter (a
high school kid gets busted in a store), plus a 1967 look at the
future (complete with space-style garments and electronic kitchen
gadgets) starring game show host Wink Martindale.

From the TVideo Website
http://tvideo.com/index.htm

But I also managed to find another copy, paired with the same film as
the one from TVideo at this site:

http://sepnet.com/rcramer/exploit.htm

Other than that, no databases turned up any records of it and there
were few mentions of the film at all to be found. I hope this helps -I
know how difficult it can be to track down good copies of classic
films. If there is any clarification you would like or questions you
have I will be happy to help.

Thanks,

Anthony (adiloren-ga)
