I remember Roger, too.

He was always dispensing bottles of virtual Chardonnay but, I guess,
when it had all gone, he went on walkabout.

It happens all the time (so I'm told).

I've just spent the last hour or so looking at his questions, and the
conversations that followed. He certainly seems like quite a
character!

In this thread (http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=214000)
he mentions that he wanted to change his username (he didn't actually
ask the question, but added a comment at the bottom). He also makes
reference to changing his username in a request for answer
clarification on this thread
(http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=214033).

Any sightings of him under his new identity?

A possible lead...

probonopublico-ga also gives out bottles of virtual Chardonnay (see
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=185269 and
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=186068)

If this is Roger, then he has changed his name to Brian, so perhaps
I'm on the wrong track here... Also the dates don't appear to fit;
bwll77 asked a question on 5th June 2003, and probobopublico asked
one on 04 April 2003. Anyone else have any ideas?

Sorry ukc, but I am definitely NOT Roger but we did 'meet up' here on
the GA from time to time.

I seem to remember that he was planning a trip somewhere ... He was
always on the hop.

Bryan

I suppose it was quite unlikely that he would change his name from Roger to Brian!

I had an idea of doing a whois on the domains mentioned in this thread:
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=182798
They all seem to have expired, however.

http://www.whois.sc/whois-history/ allows you to view historic whois
info, but a)its premium content, and b)I think tracking down roger is
becoming a bit of an obsession so I'll stop now while I'm still sain!
:)

So what do you mean by that ukc?????

Every Roger I know would just love to be renamed Bryan ...

Bryan Moore, Bryan de Coverley, Bryan's Thesaurus, Bryans &
Hammerstein, Bryans & Hart ...

lol, sorry, wasn't implying that Brian was a bad name - my name's
Archie so what do I know about names anyway!

I just meant that any name change, whether from Roger to Brian, or
from Roger to any other name, would be quite unusual.

Hi, Archie

'Brian' IS a bad name but it's 'Bryan' that's a good name!
