A search for "free sms" and names of countries in West Africa yielded
several sites:
Nigeria Masterweb

SMS - India

The problem is, that with all the spammers, there are not many free
services, but try these two.

The site that I have used in the past and is reliable is the following:

Best of all it is free!

Try www.24x.com - They let you send 10 free messages, and allow you to
specify the CLI (The senders number - or name).
