How do I find out if a case before the Scottish Courts James Lowrie
versus Forbo Nairn on, I believe 17.10.03, roll number R030507,
solicitor Simpson & Marwick was related to exposure to asbestos? My
husband has recently died from an asbestos related disease and I am
trying to trace how the exposure happened and I know he had contact
with Forbo Nairn flooring.

Bonnie

The case is listed in a list of asbestos related cases, as well as
another case, Hunter Mackie v Forbo Nairn Ltd.

However, I haven't been able to find any full text description of the
case, and would leave it for another Researcher.

Condolences on the loss of your husband, Bonnie.

I would suggest you contact the solicitors representing James Lowrie.

They are:

Digby Brown
7 Albyn Place
Edinburgh EH2 4NG

tel: 0131 225 8505
fax: 0131 240 0949
email: maildesk@digbybrown.co.uk

Digby Brown appear to represent at least one other pursuer in a case
involving Forbo Nairn. Their website is:
http://www.digbybrown.co.uk/

The main hearing in the Lowrie case has yet to happen, as far as I can
tell. The October 2003 hearing you mention seems to have been on a
minor procedural point.

General enquiries about cases in the Court of Session can be addressed to:

General Department
Court of Session
2 Parliament Square
Edinburgh EH1 1RQ
0131-225-2595

Good luck with your search for the truth about your husband's illness.

Leli
