I'm looking for two images, of different types. The first is a
tileable pattern of travertine blocks (I love
http://academic.reed.edu/getty/construction/Const.Main-23.s.html --
but I can't tile that image in Photoshop). The second is a color
image of mosaics on a building by Louis Sullivan, for example the
Transportation Building at the 1893 Columbian Exhibition (though I
couldn't find any good images of that). Thanks.

By the way, although travertine is my preference, any inexpensive
paving stone (real marble is out), AS LONG AS IT'S SEEN FROM ABOVE, as
a pavement or floor, would be okay.

Hello again, viseu!

When I saw that this question was from you, I just had to give it a stab.

Travertine Tileable Pattern
---------------------------
Will this tile pattern work for you?

If you tell me how many tiles across you would like the image to be,
and what size in pixels or inches, I'll repost the new image under
this URL.

Buffalo Guaranty/Prudential Building Mosaic

from Sara Castner's Guaranty Building website at Mary Washington College:

Search Strategy

"Louis Sullivan" mosaic OR mosaics

Guaranty Building, Buffalo

I used an oooooold predecessor of Photoshop, Adobe PhotoDeluxe
Business Edition, to "Distort" your tile picture into a square shape.
