Question ID: 328686
I want to know if there is a digital viewer (to TV) for digital
pictures that will accept USB input. I know Sandisk has one that
accepts memory cards (http://www.sandisk.com/retail_dpv.html), but I
have photos on a portable hard drive with a USB connection. I don't
really want to transfer my pictures back to memory cards to put them
in this viewer. I want to be able to connect my USB device and view
the pictures. This needs to be a portable solution independant of a
computer. Any ideas?

So basically you want to be able to view photos taken by your digital
camera on your TV?

Canon makes digital cameras that have Video Out. In other words, there
is a port on the camera where you can plug a special cable that, in
turn, plugs into your TV (via RCA video jacks).

As an example, the PowerShot S400
(http://www.powershot.com/powershot2/s400/specs.html) has video out to
NTSC and PAL, and the kit
(http://www.powershot.com/powershot2/s400/kit.html) includes this
special cable.

Not all Canon cameras have this; for example, the A310 lacks this
feature (http://www.powershot.com/powershot2/a310/specs.html). Most of
the mid-to-high range cameras *do* have video out.

I don't know if this is relevant to your situation, as you may already
have purchased a camera.

NO, I have a digital camera with output to video jack on a tv. I want
to plug a USB storage device into something and view the pictures on
TV.
