I am a security dealer who needs help programming an Acron (Scantronic) AV6000 Avenger VI alarm system. The system is powered up, we have performed the jumper reset for a forgotten master code, which puts us into the programming. However, we cannot figure out how to change the master code to one of our choosing. Everything we have tried does not seem to work. We have the installation manual, but it seems to be somewhat vague on some items. Any of you circa 1987-1990 alarm guys out there that can help us? |

Yes, this is where we had obtained the documentation we currently have. However, this manual fails to detail the information we need. |

My husband is an engineer who sold and installed security systems for several years. I asked him whether he could help you, and he said that he hasn't worked with this type of system, but he suggested that you might obtain some advice from the alt.security.alarms newsgroup. He mentioned that the group has a few unpleasant members who sometimes flame newcomers who are asking for help (this is a problem with many -- if not most -- newsgroups), but it may be worth your while to try asking, just to see what kind of response you get. One helpful post from a knowledgeable individual may be all you need. http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&newwindow=1&safe=off&group=alt.security.alarms |
