The following map shows 120 miles from zipcode 94123:
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?ovi=1&zoom=5&mapdata=p5kqyoo6yZKk6tVeVl9Pjw%2fpV%2fO7or%2fxxcgcK0JsSmPi%2bJdlWdBRhGBJ2YzZvhqd%2fmHLQhvMebjxVB986GnodP56%2bMm1THIBUIviB6rQs0tL%2f9PV3y2SH6kv2UpEUTJ2lK9xBO1C%2bauxsNaEDV0gsauIAl6ZcpeDqk14tn78D9yBFkclQFUlrKpmkNl0xVeutlnffSb3SCY5Tlsj2yMjKFVPt%2fne0fQIpSGApH2%2b1MHNloMkaV6vqSv8ux2ici2oFVrkyJfeDXVGmWldAxKM2A%3d%3d

This one shows 120 miles from San Francisco:
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?country=US&address=120+Miles+From+&city=San+Francisco&state=CA

Is this what you're looking for, or are there
other qualifiers? If this suits your needs, I'll
be happy to post a search strategy to accompany
the answer.

These maps appear to be what I'm looking for, but if you notice, when
they first pull up they do not show (w/o zooming out) area that is
properly w/in 120 miles (e.g. it will cut off Palo Alto or San Jose)
but if you zoom out, then it begins to include things which are
obviously beyond 120 miles (S. calif, etc). SO I'm not exactly sure
where to go w/this. I found these same maps but wasn't sure what to
do once I discovered the above. Maybe you could provide me w/an idea
of how far to zoom out/in or even a list of cities w/120 miles would
be fine.

Thank you,
diana

alwayssurfing-ga,

The link below to a map created by MSN Maps (a very useful site!)
should fully meet your needs:

http://maps.msn.com/map.aspx?ID=27CiJ.&C=37.94138352575991,-121.86090078078447&L=USA&A=800&S=800,740&P=%7c37.80294%2c-122.43722%7c1%7c94123%7cL1%7c&PN=1074501943&TI=94123

The map at this link should reproduce at the same scale at which I
created it, with a scale legend at the bottom of the map showing the
length of a 40-mile (60 kilometer)segment. As you can see, the
overall dimensions of the map span a distance of just about 120 miles
around the 94123 zip code.

If you have any questions about this, please let me know before rating
this answer. Just post a Request for Clarification, and I'll be happy
to assist you further.

All of the maps have indicators of mileage, either in
the upper right or lower left corners. The following
map from Yahoo has an indicator of a 50 mile distance.
http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?ed=38RGDup_0TowayTsWBidFvGhZPrWfyU-&csz=94123&country=us&cat=

Presumably one could simply draw a circle around the
star which is 2 1/2 times the 50 mile indicator, and
write down the cities within that circle, and then
zoom in for a more detailed listing of cities. I won't
be home until later today, so will be unable to do
this in a timely manner.
