Dear irvineyossi,

Hi! Thank you for your inquiry!

There are at least 7 universities in Southern California, in addition to the
University of California, that offer PhD degrees, in a variety of fields.
However, the 2 biggest schools with the most diverse options for PhD’s are the
University of California schools and the University of Southern California.
For example:

University of Southern California (USC) – Sample PhD programs in:
a)	Business
b)	Aerospace engineering
c)	Mathematics
d)	Comparative Literature
e)	Biomedical engineering
f)	Chemical engineering
g)	Communications
h)	Computer science
i)	Electrical engineering
j)	Environmental engineering
k)	Industrial and systems engineering
l)	Materials science
m)	Petroleum engineering.
n)	Economics
o)	Sociology
p)	Kinesiology
q)	Religion

Similar to the U of C schools, USC offers Ph.D programs in just about anything
you can think of – this is just a small sample of some of their programs. For
a complete list see their individual schools website, starting with:

http://www.usc.edu/schools/grad-programs-index.html

In addition to the 2 largest schools for PhD programs (U of C and USC), I was
able to find 6 other schools offering Doctorate or PhD programs. These include:

1. Alliant International University – San Diego, Irvine and Los Angeles

behavioral and social sciences.
