Hello
My Husband had Seminoma Testicular Cancer. The Cancer was removed
through his scrotum instead of through his groin. This puts him on a
higher risk of spreading the disease. This surgery was performed not
as written on his consent form.We need two signed letters, one from a
cancer Specialist and the second from an Urologist confirming that is
procedure was done wrong. Can someone help us.We really would
appreciate your support. Thank you !

katharina-ga,

I'm sorry to learn about your husband's cancer and the difficulties
with his surgery. Hopefully, it will all turn out all right.

Just to reiterate the disclaimer at the bottom of the page here, the
work done by Google Answers researchers is no substitute for
professional medical or legal advice. I hope you have considered
consulting with both other doctors and with lawyers regarding your
situation.

We cannot, of course, provide you actual letters. However, it is
possible that we could locate medical professionals who serve as
expert witnesses in medical malpractice cases, and who have the
requisite qualifications, and could possibly provide the letters you
seek.

However, I want you to be aware of two things:

(1) these are people who, at least in part, make their living through
expert witness testimonies. As such, you can expect them to charge a
(probably substantial) fee for their services.

(2) no one would offer to write such a letter without knowing the full
details of your husband's case, and without having an opportunity to
speak directly with him, review his medical records, etc. As such, I
may be able to direct you to *potential* sources for the letters, but
cannot, in advance, offer any assurances that they would actually
provide them to you.

Please think over carefully how the researchers here can best assist you.

If you would like us to go ahead and try to track down contact
information for cancer specialists and urologists who MIGHT be able to
provide the letters you need, then let us know, and we'll do our best.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Hello

Thank you for your quick response. How much would it cost to get a
list to locate medical professionals who serve as
expert witnesses in medical malpractice cases, and who have the
requisite qualifications, and could possibly provide the letters we
seek.

Thanks again

Tim,

The most appropriate response to your question about how much it would
cost is..."it depends".

For a relatively modest sum, a researcher could compile a list of
possibilities that you could then contact for further details to see
if they meet your needs. For instance, it took me about 15 minutes to
locate this fellow:

www.expertwitness.com/keiller

On the other hand, if you wanted a researcher to contact potential
professionals to find out, more specifically, if they can assist you,
that would be a lot more effort, and would warrant a higher price.

My suggestion would be to take the first option, and go with a lower
price. The reason for this is that -- in my experience -- contacting
potential experts about there qualifications simly results in their
aksing more questions about the case itself.

If they ask ME the questions, I can't answer them. If they ASK you, you can!

If you want to go this route, reprice the question as you see fit -- I
will suggest a figure of $50, but this is only a suggestion -- and
we'll see what we can come up with for you.

Be advised, though, that there likely is not a large pool of experts
out there who are listed online, and have the particular
qualifications you're looking for. So the final list we can provide
may be a relatively small one.

To change the price of your question, just follow these instructions
from the "Help" page:

http://answers.google.com/answers/help.html

"You can change your price at anytime as long as your question is not
currently 'locked' and being answered by a Researcher. To change your
question price, go to "My Account," select "My Unanswered Questions"
and click on the question with the price you want to change. Then
click on "Change Question Parameters" to modify the price."

I look forward to hearing back from you.
