Please provide me with 2-4 hours of reading that will gave me a
general understanding of Cincinnati's business and economic trends.
Following are the kind of questions I will want to be able to answer
after reading the material you supply.

- What are the city or region's most important industries historically?
What are the trends in those industries?
- Business investment trends
- Job growth/loss
- Major challenges facing the area
- Major opportunities or hopes
- Local controversies and political wranglings
- Local government: (D) or (R)? Relationship with local business?
Strategies and success in attracting new business from outside the
region? What kind of investment is targeted/desired?
- Prospects for economic growth
- Population and demographic trends

Recent reports or presentations on this subject will be helpful.
Articles from the local papers or business journals will be helpful.
Empty political rhetoric not helpful except where it helps define
important issues. Summary charts, graphs and tables will be great.
Duplicative information not helpful - less is more. Try to deliver
material that analyzes and summarizes issues in an unbiased way. I am
not looking to build a case, just trying to understand what makes the
local economy tick and spell out where the local economy seems to be
going.

Hello -

I've discovered Cincinnati USA to be a very comprehensive resource
that should address the most all of your questions and beyond. The
Cincinnati USA Partnership "is the regional economic development
initiative supported by the Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce.
[It] is designed to stimulate economic growth by unifying the region?s
economic development strengths and resources. It is supported through
a five-year campaign with investments from more than 200 private and
public organizations and more than 1,000 Chamber members from
throughout the 15-county, three-state region known as Cincinnati USA."

The site has dozens of categorized PDF reports on all aspects of
Cincinnati, business-wise and other, from annual reports to workforce
statistics, and most everything in between.

Exhaustive qualitative and quantitative business data on the city are
one click away from this page:

Currently, although downtown Cincinnati generally votes Democratic
like other racially-diverse Midwestern cities, greater
Cincinnati/Hamilton County remains the only urban county in the
country that votes generally Republican - a demographic legacy of its
conservatism rooted in families with pioneer, Revolutionary War
veteran, or German-American immigrant ancestry....

For a town whose manners and mores are distinctly conservative,
Cincinnati has weathered its share of controversy and scandal. Such
as...Pete Rose's gambling and ouster from baseball; the Robert
Mapplethorpe photography exhibit for which, in the first and only time
in American history, a museum director was arrested for pandering
obscenity; homegrown Charlie Keating and the national Savings & Loan
crisis he sparked; Donald Harvey, the Angel of Death, who became the
nation's worst serial killer (eclipsing yet another Cincinnati native,
Charles Manson); and last but not least, Jerry Springer. That's right,
the talk show host/ringmaster began here, first as mayor and later as
a TV news commentator...

I was looking for specific types of business information that I do not
find at the links you provided. Also I was looking for 2-4 hours of
reading and found about 9 minutes worth at the sites you provided. I
was specifically looking to acquire a general understanding of
Cincinnati's business and economic trends and outlook and your answer
was of very limited value in that regard.
