I have to small oil paintings and will appreciate to verify painters and to know more about them. 1. 8X11" painting on canvas, very colorful.It depict side of lake(?)with siluete of a man ancoring small rowing boat, a big tree and house like A frame. I left lower corner signed :A. Lilb(?)y, no date.Frame is classic, ornamental, gold leafed 2.8.5X 7.5" oil painting in shadow box (Victorian frame). Also side of lake/bay?, mirrow like water reflecting big tree on cost edge, distant low hill, somewhat white cloudy sky. Color: shades of grey and vague green. Painting done what looks like cardboard. Inner very decorative frame is old golg color, placed in straigh 3/8"wooden frame painted black, covered with glass. Back covered with brown paper. No any number or name of framer.Signed looks like: Ted? Williams? , or Williard . Both paintings were purchased at local auction house about 1980, price unknown | |

In my experience, these types of searches are difficult (I'm not a researcher by the way). Search engines are text, rather than visually based. Typically, the name of the artist and name of the piece make for good search parameters. If you can provide this information, your chances of getting a decent answer increase 100 fold. Without this type of information, its like trying to find a man with blond hair and blue eyes in the telephone book. |
