I need to give an executive pitch to get support for some fundamental
changes. One of the things I have found is that a picture paints a
thousand words. I would like to use a comic that describes the
situation (I have seen many variations of this, but for the life of
me I can not find a single one now).

It is one of a complacent appearing situation that is about to topple.
I remember one with a set of ladies having tea in a living room
commenting on what a wonderful job the home decorator did (while you
can see below that the foundation was on the verge of collapse). This
type of image I think would be a good portrayal of what I am trying to
convey. Any picture that conveys complacency on the verge of disaster
might work, although the example I have in my head would be ideal.

I have tried the Google image search, as well as various websites like
funnypapers.com or comics.com. None have a search where I can find
comic pictures by a topic such as this. Can you help me find such a
comic? I could use it by this Thursday (April 15). Thanks!

This may be sort of what you are looking for. Just some funny unsafe
situations. They are not comics, but they are hilarious. It's a
Power Point Presentation.

is funny. Still, I was hoping for my of a comic type thing. Thanks.

I recall "Mad Magazine" always containing these sort of comics. The
one I remember is a quiet city intersection with a large building
obstructing the view around the corner, marching down one street is
the Ku Klux Klan and marching down the other street is a sort of Black
Panther type of group. The panel stops just short of when they
converge. That one may not be good but they ran many others, I'll see
what can be tracked down.

Again, not a comic but...

You might take a look at the long dinner scene at the end of the
comedy film 'Carry On Up the Khyber'. I'm sure stills must be
available online.

It features a group of British colonial leaders steadfastly refusing
to acknowledge that the war had reached them. While the bullets and
cannonballs of the locals flew at them, the band continued to play,
the servants continued to serve tea and these true Brits blithely
refused to notice and carried on regardless.
