I am looking for quotes from Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfiwitz,
Ashcroft, Rice, Powell, and Fleisher (Press secretary) prior April 1st
2003 as to why the US needed to invade Iraq. I will pay if you can
supply 30 separate quotes most of which should point to different
reasons. The purpose is to show how the reasons have drifted to
whatever was convenient and also to show how often they made
statements which have since proved to be ridiculous, like for example
Wolfiwitz's statement to the effect that
the US would be welcomed as liberators. |

Hi willshiz,
After locating approximately 12 quotes regarding the reasons for
invading Iraq by various members of the Bush Administration, I have
reached the point where the quotes become repeats.
Also, the quotes I have been able to locate are mostly all indirect quotes.
I am uncertain if what I have gathered so far will suit your needs.
Please let me know your views.
Regards,
Rainbow~

Are there only 12 for all of these people? Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfiwitz,
Ashcroft, Rice, Powell, and Fleisher (Press secretary). It is not
really enough especially if they are indirect.

When you state that you are looking for quotes "most of which should
point to different reasons," how many different reasons are you
looking for?
Prior to the war the people you mentioned were all mostly saying that
Iraq posed an imminent threat. The reasons seemed to drift after the
war started.
One great source for quotes is the "Iraq on the Record" database.
However, it only covers quotes from Bush, Cheney, Rice, Powell, and
Rumsfeld. You can search just pre-4/1/03 quotes though very easily.
"Iraq on the Record":

For some post-4/1/03 quotes, you may want to browse through the pages
at the following link. They are not all threat-related quotes, but
they are nevertheless interesting quotes. Unfortunately, the online
version is not as nicely presented as the print version:
"52-Week Pick Up, At the One-Year Mark, with No WMD, No al Qaeda
Connection, and No Support, Bush?s House of Cards Topples in Iraq":
