sulafa -- I don't have enough information to be able to confidently post an answer, largely because I don't read Estonian. Vanilla Ninja apparently did release a CD in May 2003, but, as far as I can tell, it has not been distributed in the US. Indeed, as far as I can tell, it is not current;y available from online retailers at all, although Amazon's German site does offer three CD singles for sale (just enter "vanilla ninja" in the search box): Amazon.de (http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/tg/browse/-/301128/302-8041461-4063219?site-redirect=de As for the CD, there are several relevant Estonian-language sites. For example, this one will allow you to listen to an MP3 stream of every track on the CD: Uno.ee: Vanilla Ninja http://www.uno.ee/uplayer/albums/v/Vanilla+Ninja/ This one also seems to offer an MP3 version of the tracks on the CD, but requires some sort of registation (and payment?): MP3.ee http://www.mp3.ee/?CatID=52&action=artist&AID=460 And this site seems to be offering the CD for sale: Lasering: Vanilla Ninja http://www.lasering.ee/index.php?make=item_show&toote_id=7184 And here is some information about the group (in English) from the website of its manager: Mar y Sol Artist Management http://www.marysolmusic.com/2379/2487.html And here is the website (in Estonian) of the record producer: TopTen.ee http://www.topten.ee I hope that this information is useful to you. If by any chance, it constitutes a satisfactory response to your question, I would be happy to post it as an answer. Otherwise, another researcher might be able to come up with a better source for this CD. markj-ga |

Hi sulafa-ga, While I am not generally a fan of pop music, Vanilla Ninja did strike me as slightly different from the usual manufactured pop bands. Their influences are varied in a way that those of most US bands aren't. I first encountered them through the video for their single, 'Tough Enough' which is also quite fun. While the members of the band are Estonian, their official site is in German. You can find it here: Vanilla Ninja - Offizielle Website http://www.vanilla-ninja.de/ There is a debut album, as mentioned in the Band section: "Die Girls führten in ihrem Heimatland Estland mit ihrem Debüt Longplay bereits 6 Monate die Charts an und befinden sich nach wie vor in den Top 5!!!" I'm sure one of my German speaking colleagues will be able to help far more than I with the translation of this, but my best guess is something along the lines of: "The girls have stayed in the charts in their homeland Estonia for six months with their debut album and it still is in the Top 5!!!" There is no date on this note. This certainly doesn't answer your question, but I hope it helps. poe-ga Google Answers Researcher |
