Question ID: 330470
Someone sent me an email with a Quicktime attachment - sound.mov When
I try to open it I get a message "There's no disc in the drive please
insert disc...etc
If I cancel this I get a message saying "The movie file
ORIG_002d4747.IETemp cannot be found. Without this file the movie
cannot play properly.
Is there a player or file I can download that would let me open this
attachment - I have Quicktime installed

Have you tried saving the attachment to your hard drive first? Can you
confirm that the attachment was actually received without corruption?

Yes- I saved the file to my desktop and got the same results when I
tried to open it. I'm not sure how to confirm the file was received
without corruption.

It appears that your friend who sent you the file may not have sent
you the correct or complete file. At this point in time, it is best
for you to contact them and ask them to send it again.

Yes - I've tried to open it with Windows Media Player and Music Match
Jukebox- neither one is able to open it.

Downloaded quicktime alternative and still get the same result - says
it cannot play the file because ORIG_002d4747.IETemp can't be found

Have you tried right clicking on the file, holding your mouse over
Open With... ,clicking Choose Program... and chosing another program
that may be able to open the file?

What you need to do to play Quicktime files in WMP is install the free
Quicktime Alternative codec (available at
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/QuickTime_Alternative.htm).

This should alleviate any player problems in the future.
