Hello Ms. Warns,
I thought I had found enough sites on the Web that give adequate
information on making a naginata, so I posted the websites here as an
answer. I hope they'll help you make your training naginatas.

Kendo World Forums - Making a Naginata
http://www.kendo-world.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2454
- Here's a forum posting showing a suggestion on how to make a
naginata, assuming you already have the blade end.

Here's an alternative site carrying the same article Thx1138 showed:

Southern California Naginata Federation - Naginata Blade Construction

Other Naginata sites:

I hope this has been a most helpful answer. If you need anything else,
or have a problem with the answer, do please post a Request for
Clarification before rating and I shall respond as soon as I can.
Thank you.

Hello Mary,

This site should be of help:
http://www.scnf.org/

Look under "Naginata Blade Construction"

It doesn't seem to mention much about the handle (sorry for the
untechnical term ;) construction, but it might be of interest to you
anyway.

Best regards, and good luck.

Thanks. This should be of some help although we will be using wooden
blades as they will just be used for instuction at this point.
