I have a Toshiba Tecra 8200 laptop computer with Windows 2000. I had
personal files and documents stored within "My Documents" file folder
and I was attempting to copy these folders and files onto a 1 GB Jazz
diskette. It appears that I may have "moved" these files versus copy.
Not aware of this mistake I deleted the files on my Jazz disk and I
went back to the hard drive to recopy them (again) and I discovered
the files were no longer in "My Dcouments" file folder on the hard drive, so
I assume that I "moved" them to the Jazz. Of course, I had just
deleted them from the Jazz diskette, creating a much greater mistake!

I have gone to Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, View, Hidden
files & folders, and selected the button for "show hidden files and
folders". This has not helpd me find these files. I have also looked
in my recycle bin but they are not showing in there either. I've been
told that if I delete something from the Jazz disk it will not go to
the recycle Bin on the hard drive. I've always thought that a deleted
file though remined on the disk or hard drive until it was written
over.

I would like to recover these files. I have not turned off my
computer since this occrred. Is there a method I can use to recover
these files either from my hard drive or from the Jazz diskette?

I need instructions on how to recover these files (if it is possible).
