Question ID: 331672
I have recently been appointed project manager of a medium size
in-house IT web service project. However, before commencing work upon
the project, I wish to conduct some feasibility studies. More
specifically, I wish to do some research upon server side
technologies. I have decided that the project should be implemented in
either J2EE or .Net. However, before deciding upon which server side
technology to use, I wish to know more about the advantages and
disadvantages of each platform. I am uninterested about the
differences at coding level, rather I am more interested in comparing
and contrasting the performance, deploy-ability, maintainability and
licensing costs of both platforms for a medium sized solution (50
users accross an intranet).

Can you please find any unbiased case studies or articles which might
be of use. Any of your own advice and opinions in regards to the
merits and demerits of each platform would also be appreciated.
