Hello, carlw-ga!

Donald Trump's latest golf development is "The Estates at Trump
National Golf Club", which is in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. It
is slated to open in June 2004.

"The 300-acre oceanfront development will feature 36 home sites in its
first phase, a clubhouse and a championship golf course. In addition,
there will be walking trails to the beach, a paved bikeway and other
amenities."

"The Estates at Trump National Golf Club will be the finest
development on the California coast," proclaimed Trump. "With their
spectacular ocean views and the best golf course in California, where
all 18 holes front on the ocean, these homes are sure to attract the
most discerning buyers who are seeking both luxury and privacy. Palos
Verdes is beautiful and tranquil, and it's just minutes from downtown
Los Angeles and the Hollywood studios."

"Coldwell Banker will market the first phase of homes in the 85-acre
residential development, which will feature 36 home sites, including
five lots with estates already designed. Construction will commence in
March. A custom-designed home will be built specifically for each
site, ensuring that no two homes look alike."

"Robert L. Earl, AIA, Architect and Associates Inc., located in Los
Angeles, will be the architect for the initial five homes. Plans call
for the five- and six-bedroom homes to feature amenities such as media
rooms, wine cellars, billiard rooms, multiple master suites, spa
bathrooms and gourmet kitchens."

From another article which highlights "the Donald's" various business developments:

"Mr. Trump has just recently purchased the largest parcel of land in
California which fronts, for almost two miles, along the Pacific
Ocean. Luxury estates and a Pete Dye championship golf course to be
called Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles, will be built on this
land."

"In addition, the Tom Fazio designed Trump National Golf Club and
fifteen ?super mansions? will be built at Lamington Farm in
Bedminster, New Jersey.

The golf course is currently called "Ocean Trails" and they have a web
site at http://www.oceantrails.com.

It was completed in 1999, but shortly after construction a landslide
destroyed part of the course. Since then, it has remained open, but
with only 15 holes. Donald Trump bought this "distressed property" at
a fire sale price in 2002 and pumped a significant amount of cash into
repairing the course and building an underground retaining wall to
prevent any future landslides. Hopefully he did it right, since the
surrounding area is prone to many landslides and has remained
relatively undeveloped for decades because of this. The community will
be called "Costa Verde".

Also, Trump's prospects will be helped by a neighboring resort hotel
called "Long Point" (see http://www.longpoint.com) which is still in
development and owned by another company (Lowe Enterprises).

I live in Rancho Palos Verdes a couple of miles from the course.
