North American Residential Broadband Subscribers

The total number of residential cable modem and DSL subscribers in the
U.S. and Canada topped the 28-million mark at the end of 2003

cable maintained a 64.5% share of the installed residential broadband
subscriber base compared to DSL.

DSL providers finished 2003 with over 10 million residential
high-speed Internet subscribers in North America, compared to 18.2
million for cable.

There is a report available that predicts the future however at $1995
a copy that is rather steep

a good website to go to would be http://www.cabledatacomnews.com/
