Many years ago I was able to purchase a check design from my credit
union in Monroe, MI (SEE & A Credit Union) which featured several
black and white pictures with funny captions.  One of the pictures was
of a man sitting at a desk with a checkbook in front of him with a pen
in his hand - the caption was something like "I signed your name ok?".

There was another picture of a woman standing over a man on his hands
and knees - the caption was something like "I've found his checkbook."

I've been looking for those particular checks for a long time.  I have
moved away from Monroe, MI.  I have spoken to someone who works at the
credit union, but those checks are not offered there anymore, and she
does not have any additional information.

If you could locate the company that makes those checks, I would
greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for the suggestion journalist...unfortunately I did not keep
any of the cancelled or unused checks.

The pictures are actually black and white photographs.  I wasn't clear
on my inital question that they were actually photographs, not
drawings.

Check designs come and go. I searched many websites that you may order
checks from and found 100's of designs. Unfortunately I did not find
the exact match for what you described. The good news is that there is
a check company out there where you may search for your design or they
will find it for you if it exists. Most check designs now days are
full color affairs. Finding black and white photo's with cute captions
is difficult. I did try their search engine, but without actually
seeing the checks or knowing the design name, I could only guess at
search terms for the checks. I did try Photo, black and white,
humerous people and people. None of those searches turned up
significant results. Try clicking on the suggest a design link on the
right and put in your description and your email address and they will
attempt to find the specific design you are looking for.

If you have any of the cancelled checks in your tax records, check to
see if there is an artist's name anywhere on the drawing.
