Hello.
Wow, good guess!
14 is the record for a nine-inning game.
New York Giants on September 14, 1913 (shut out by the Cubs).
Cleveland Indians on July 10, 1928 (shut out by Washington).

Also:
"July 3, 1913: The Red Sox tally 15 hits off Washington's Walter
Johnson, but lose 1?0 in 15 innings. This a ML frustration record for
most hits in a shutout."

Since you're interested in modern baseball, though, the most recent
brush with the record apparently happened in 1993 when the Braves gave
up 13 hits but shut out the Pirates.
"July 18, 1993: Atlanta's Steve Avery and two relievers shut out the
Pirates, 2-0, despite surrendering 13 hits, just one shy of the record
for most hits allowed in a shutout."
