How do I review previous messages on msn instant messanger? I need to
refresh my memory of the past few days after a friend said she sent me
instant messages that I don't remember.

hardhead-ga:

Do you have your Message History setting turned on? You can check this
by looking in MSN Messenger at Tools>Options...>Messages, and the
Message History section. If the checkbox is checked, just Cancel out
of there.

If the checkbox was checked, simply right-click on your friend's name
in your Contact List, and look for an option called "Open Message
History". If it is not greyed out, then that means you have a history
file for that friend's IMs; select the option, and you can view the
history file.

If, however, the checkbox is not checked, then you do not have any
history stored for that friend's IMs, and the only other way to see
the history would be if your friend had stored them in her history
file, and can view it, take screen shots, and send the screen shots to
you as 'evidence' (there is no easy way to extract the history
contents as text from within MSN Messenger... but even if there were,
how can you trust that the IMs were legit? With a screen shot, at
least it's more likely that they are legit).

Please let me know if you have your Message History setting activated,
and if you are able to retrieve the message history for your friend's
IMs. If so, I will post an Answer incorporating this.
