please could you tell me about the way in which mobile phones have
been able to decrease the gap in the digital divide. please could you
try to compare and contrast the mobile phones impact between europe
(mainly UK) with that of the less developed countries in asian and
africa.  Are there any ways that perhaps mobile phones have increased
the divide? any facts figures and stats would be appreciated. also
references to books, journals and newspaper articles would be good.
any thoughts on the future of the digital divide with respect to
mobile phones and technology. thank you! please could i have this
answer as soon as possible ts really important! thank you so much!

Cell phones communicate. Computers comunicate. Third world huts can
typically have cell phones at less cost than computers. Digital cell
phones can provide some of the features of computers, but my guess is
digital cell phones presently are not available in typical remote
villages. I'm not convinced the technology is good for the average
person or business, so some of those deprived are actually saved from
a costly overhead whose utility rarely justifies the cost in money and
delays due to crashing of computer programs.  Neil
