Hi,
Been looking all over for a program that will duplicate the buttons on
this site: http://fear-of-public-speaking.com/ I have found some
that come close, but non to duplicate exactly. Have tried just about
every program I could find, but no luck. Notice the top 8 buttons
have a very glassy/gel look, with the ability to change the rim color.
Thanks

This kind of button is reminiscent of the Mac OS X Aqua interface. As
such, I was able to find a Mac program that can create these kinds of
graphics:

Hi jefftappan,
In case you need a program for Windows, I can recommend a great
program for you. However, it is not specifically a button making
program, but it makes great glassy/gel graohics. You can easily make
glassy/gel buttons with this program, but it is not limited to
buttons.

Supermacman, thanks, but really need a windows program. Crabcakes-ga,
a windows program would be nice, as long as it can re-create the
buttons and is not too painful to use. (Already have photoshop)
Thanks

Hi jefftappan-ga,
I was originally going to post this as an answer, but have decided
to wait until you can confirm that one of the options given below
solves your problem.
==========================================================
There are a number of software programs available for Windows that
allow you to create button images with the glass/gel look. A few are
listed below:
- Crystal Button 2.5
(http://www.crystalbutton.com/)
Price: $29.95
Shareware. Free trial available.
Sample Buttons: (http://www.crystalbutton.com/examples.shtml)
- AWIcons Pro
(http://www.awicons.com/awicons.html)
Price: $39.95
Free Trial available.
AWIcons is primarily an icon building software, and is limited
to images of sizes upto 128x128 pixels. The Pro version provides an
easy to use aqua effect that can be applied with one click. It also
provides an Adobe Photoshop plugin.
- Just Buttons
(http://www.lincolnbeach.com/justbuttons.asp)
Price: $19.95/$29.95 (Standard/Professional Edition)
Shareware. Free trial available.
Sample Buttons: (http://www.lincolnbeach.com/justbuttons_samples.asp)
- Trellian Button Factory
(http://www.xkee.com/multimedia-design/trellian-button-factory/)
Price: $39.95
Shareware. Free trial.
While the above mentioned software packages allow you to easily create
glass/gel buttons, and configure them based on multiple parameters, it
is entirely possible that they may not meet all your needs. Since you
mentioned that you had access to Adobe Photoshop, I looked for some
tutorials that would allow you to achieve the same affect, but with a
greater degree of control. An easy to follow tutorial can be found at:
- Eyeball Design: Aqua button/Bars
(http://www.eyeball-design.com/fxzone/tutorial_ifx01.htm)
Besides these, you can find a number of tutorials with the following Google Search:
- Google Search : photoshop tutorial "aqua buttons"
(://www.google.com/search?q=photoshop+tutorial+%22aqua+buttons%22&num=30)
============================================================
Hope this helps.
If you need any clarifications, then just ask!
If you are satisfied with this solution, then just indicate so, and I
will post this as an answer.
