Dear karon,

Thanks very much for your question. Cancer isn?t choosy, as they say,
and it?s touched a number of celebrities in recent years. The
following stars are currently battling cancer, or have done so in the
last 5 years:

Robert DeNiro ? diagnosed with prostate cancer October 2003

Fran Drescher ? Survived uterine cancer following surgery in 2000

Tom Green (Charlie?s Angels, Road Trip) ? Lost a testicle to cancer in
2000; recovered

Lynn Redgrave ? Conquered breast cancer in 2003

Cybill Shepherd ? Underwent skin cancer surgery in 2002

Elizabeth Taylor ? Underwent surgery for skin cancer in 2002

Gene Wilder (Blazing Saddles, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory) ?
beat lymphoma in 2001

Other notables, while not movie stars per se, have waged and won the
cancer battle recently ? among them Suzanne Somers (breast cancer),
Sharon Osbourne (colon cancer) and Rod Stewart (throat cancer).
