Question ID: 332942
I started a small multi media company from my bedroom a little over
two years ago specializing in photo, video and design and now it is
getting big very fast! All I have is a two year old DBA and I have not
paid taxes on anything the whole time while in business! I did though
file for an extension this year as I want to hire an account right
away to direct me in the right direction. What I really want to know
is how do I correctly incorporate my business myself and where can I
find solid resourses for small business owners like myslef with no
employees currently but who can see themself's with one or two very
soon with all things considered?

Hi Extraextra ~

Having announced to the workd that you haven't paid taxes on anything
the whole time you've been in business, I can point you to tax pros in
your area who can help with amending your previous tax returns (if
necessary - and it probably is), and advise you on the advantages of
incorporating your business, in which state, what local and state
permits may be necessary, etc.

Or you can do it yourself. Just remember that if it isn't done right
(and in some cases on a timely basis), you could pay a LOT more in
fines and penalties to get out of trouble.

It sounds as if the old adage about an ounce of prevention is in order here.

If this would be acceptable, please let us know.

Thanks,
Serenata
