I am looking for the exact source of a quotation "these things are over and no longer mine". I know it is from a poem by AC Swinburne and is quoted at the beginning of the Nevil Shute novel Requiem for a Wren. I would like the title and complete text of the poem from which it is taken. |

Hello. The exact line is "These things are over, and no more mine." It's the 368th line of the poem "The Triumph of Time" by Algernon Charles Swinburne (1837-1909). The complete text of "The Triumph of Time" is available from Representative Poetry Online, hosted by the University of Toronto http://eir.library.utoronto.ca/rpo/display/poem2104.html ------- search strategy: swinburne, "things are over" I hope this helps. |
