Question ID: 333081
I'm 69 yrs old with a Dallas trained residency in anesthesiology and
an MD degree, but no USA license. My lack of license is due to
politics and the $40,000 it cost to get it back.
In areas other than medicine where can I get a job
where my expertise is needed?

Hi mcyak,

 Are you willing to relocate?

Are you willing to work in a medical career outside of your field?
Would research appeal to you?

 Thank you!

crabcakes

Hello mcyak-ga,

I?m afraid you haven?t given us much to go on to help with finding
alternative career options for an anesthesiologist. At the same time
you?ve raised some red flags. Although no one will admit to age
discrimination, being 69 will be a big hurdle to overcome. In addition
you say that you have an MD degree but ?no USA license? ?due to
politics? and lack of money to ?get it back.? The elements of this
comment indicate that there will be something to explain to
prospective employers.

It is difficult to know where to look for job opportunities for you
without knowing more about your situation. Where do you live? Does
?Dallas residency? mean that?s where you live or that you did your
medical residency in Dallas? Where did you get your medical training?
Are you licensed somewhere? Why is there an issue of getting your
license back? What are the geographic limits for your job search? What
have you tried to find a job on your own? I?d love to help you but I
don?t feel I have enough information to be able to conduct a
productive search.

I look forward to your clarification.
