Hi all,
I am trying to find the sources for the community (free) newspapers
and classifieds-publications in the following countries:
o China
o Hong Kong / Taiwan
o Korea
o Japan
These newspapers usually are distributed for free and contain only
advertisements relevant to specific cities or regions within the same
country.
Here are examples from Australia and Singapore:

http://newsmedianet.com.au/

all the best?.

Hi, Octopia. I've been looking on this question for a while already.
I've found classified ads sites that are free, though I've found only
online sources, and they're not all newspapers. Are you looking for
print sources as well? How many do you need per country? Thanks.

Hi Techtor,
Thanks for your efforts so far. I am looking for the print media more
than the online media. (The target market that I am trying to reach
uses this medium more often.)
Around 2 newspapers from each location would be sufficient.
All the best?

Hello again Octopia,
I've still been looking around for the print papers that you've
wanted, but it sure is challenging to find any mention of them on the
Net. I've found mentions of names of free ads papers in Japan, though
that has been all so far. In newspaper lists, I'm having difficulty
finding out which of them are free papers. I'll do my best to look
further and see if I could find them.

Hello Octopia,
I've been searching for some time and it's becoming quite unlikely
that I'll be able to answer your question. Complicating this is
something I found that indicates free newspapers in Korea being
prohibited:
Digital Chosunilbo (English Edition) : Daily News in English About Korea
http://english.chosun.com/w21data/html/news/200404/200404260034.html
- "Kang also said that it will mark one year next month since the new
regulation prohibiting newspaper companies from giving out excessive
free gifts to subscribers and circulating newspapers free of charge
was put in force..."
I do not know if this affects community newspapers. Unfortunately, I
also have been unable to locate these kind of newspapers for all the
countries you have mentioned. Presumably, since these are local print
operations on a small scale, they are unable to get some mention on
the Internet. This goes the same for free ad papers. On that note,
it's even easier to find Buy and Sell, the Philippines' premiere
newspaper, when trying to search for free ad papers in Asia. It seems
that if the kind of papers you are looking for do exist, they don't
seem to be mentioned on the Internet.
With that, let me leave you with a couple of finds for Japan that
might be of use to you:
Asahi Evening News: Classified Ad Papers in Japan: free ad papers articles
http://metropolis.japantoday.com/Aboutus/Asahi/Asahi.html
Free Newspaper:
Japan Today - Kuchikomi - Can free newspaper succeed? - Japan's
Leading International News Network
http://www.japantoday.com/gidx/kuchikomi182.html
Sorry if I could not be of much help on this one. If I finally find
something more complete, I'll try to let you know before this question
expires. Thanks.

Thanks Techtor. I really appreciate the efforts that you put into this
question. The links you provided are useful, and will help in focusing
my search in the future. For the time being, here is a link that is
somewhat relative to the topic:

?You can read all 160 newspapers from 40 countries right on this site.
All newspapers are published online in their original form and layout.
Newspapers are available before they will appear on newsstands. ?
